BENGALURU
South Western Railway (SWR) has announced temporary changes in train operations on May 20 due to essential safety and signalling works being carried out at Hirehalli Yard under the Bengaluru Division. Several trains will be diverted, partially cancelled or delayed as part of the maintenance work.
According to SWR officials, Train No. 20689 Yesvantpur-Shivamogga Town Daily Superfast Express departing on May 20 will operate via Yesvantpur, Chikkabanavara, Nelamangala, Hassan and Arsikere. Owing to the diversion, the train will not halt at Tumakuru and Tiptur stations.
Similarly, Train No. 20676 Mysuru-Belagavi Vishwamanava Daily Superfast Express departing on May 20 will run through Mysuru, Holenarasipur, Hassan and Arsikere. The train will skip all stations between Pandavapura and Tiptur during the diversion.
SWR has also announced partial cancellation of MEMU services on the route. Train No. 66567 KSR Bengaluru-Tumakuru MEMU will operate only up to Doddabele station and remain cancelled between Doddabele and Tumakuru. Likewise, Train No. 66572 Tumakuru-KSR Bengaluru MEMU will commence its journey from Doddabele instead of Tumakuru on May 20.
In addition, Train No. 17316 Velankanni-Vasco da Gama Weekly Express departing on May 19 will be delayed by around 60 minutes en route. Train No. 12725 KSR Bengaluru-Dharwad Siddaganga Superfast Express and Train No. 12649 Yesvantpur-Hazrat Nizamuddin Superfast Express departing on May 20 will each face delays of approximately 30 minutes.
Railway officials have advised passengers to check updated schedules and plan their journeys accordingly to avoid inconvenience caused by the temporary operational changes.
