Namratha Gowda, who won admiration through the hit serial Naagini and later gained wider fame on Bigg Boss, is now stepping into films with a significant role in the upcoming movie Mahaan. The project is directed by acclaimed filmmaker P.C. Shekhar and produced by Prakash Budduru under Akash Pictures, in association with a well-known production house. The film stars Vijay Raghavendra in the lead, marking Namratha’s much-awaited debut on the big screen.
Sharing her excitement, Namratha said that many of her friends had encouraged her to try films, but she waited for the right script. When director P.C. Shekhar narrated Mahaan, the story connected instantly, and she agreed without a second thought. She also expressed happiness in being part of a film that sheds light on the struggles and everyday lives of farmers.
Producer Prakash Budduru is keen on delivering a grand production, while P.C. Shekhar, known for meaningful and engaging cinema, is steering the project. The cast also includes Radhika Chetan, Mitra, and several talented actors alongside Vijay Raghavendra.
Expressing her joy further, Namratha said she feels proud to be associated with a story rooted in realism and depth. With Mahaan, she is looking forward to a memorable beginning in cinema.
