Congress MLA T.D. Rajegowda has alleged that postal ballot boxes in the Sringeri Assembly constituency were opened before the scheduled recount process. He raised the issue ahead of the court-ordered recount of postal votes being conducted under official supervision. According to him, the alleged incident took place before the formal recount procedure began, raising concerns about the integrity of the process. Rajegowda said such actions question the transparency of the election system and demanded accountability from the concerned authorities. He urged election officials to strictly follow procedures and ensure fairness during the recount process. The matter has drawn political attention in the closely contested constituency recently.
