Actor-director Dileesh Pothan sparked waves of laughter at a recent college event by teasing his co-star, Kunchacko Boban, about his incredible longevity in the film industry. The playful exchange took place during a promotional tour for their latest film, Oru Durooha Sahacharyathil, which is currently playing in theaters.
While addressing a crowd of energetic students, Pothan took a nostalgic trip down memory lane. He joked that while he finished his own college education nearly thirty years ago, Kunchacko Boban was already a star guest back then. In my college, it was the young star Chackochan who came to inaugurate the arts festival, Pothan said with a grin. He then told the students to go home and ask their parents, uncles, and aunts, claiming they would likely find that the same actor had inaugurated their college events too.
The lighthearted troll highlights Boban’s rare status as a hero who has remained relevant across generations. The duo’s camaraderie has helped boost interest in their new movie, directed by Ratheesh Balakrishnan Poduval. In the film, Boban plays Sethu, a health center employee with a love for the radio.
While Oru Durooha Sahacharyathil is receiving mixed reviews, fans are already looking forward to Boban’s next massive project, Patriot. Releasing on May 1, the Mahesh Narayanan film features an elite cast including Mohanlal and Mammootty, proving that the actor’s busy schedule shows no signs of slowing down even after three decades.
