Minister Sivananda Patil has instructed officials and contractors of the National Highways Authority to complete the closure of road dips on the Haveri–Akkialur stretch by May. He said the work has been delayed for a long time and must be completed without further excuses. The direction was given while chairing a District Planning Committee meeting at the Zilla Panchayat Hall on Saturday. MLA and Deputy Speaker Rudrappa Lamani, MLA Basavaraja Sivannavar, District Superintendent of Police Yashoda Vantagodi, and other officials attended the meeting. Authorities were urged to speed up road safety works for public convenience.
