Yatnal welcomes Women’s Reservation Bill

Vijayapura

City MLA Basanagouda Patil Yatnal has welcomed the Women’s Reservation Bill introduced by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, stating that the move is a positive step towards empowering women. Addressing the media, Yatnal said the bill, which was earlier opposed by several political parties, has now been implemented and deserves appreciation. He further added that there has been a long-standing demand to extend the reservation to Vidhan Sabha elections as well.

Concerns Over Rising ‘Love Jihad’ Cases

The MLA also expressed concern over the alleged rise in “love jihad” cases in Hubballi. He stated that he recently visited the city and met the Superintendent of Police, urging strict action. Yatnal warned that if such incidents continue, a large-scale protest would be organized across the country, including a demonstration in front of the SP’s office.

Remarks on RSS and Kharge’s Statement

Responding to remarks made by Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge regarding the RSS, Yatnal questioned whether there was any “registration” required for organizations that participated in the freedom struggle. He asserted that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh is a Hindu organization and said he is a “swayamsevak” himself. He further added that every Indian has the right granted by B. R. Ambedkar, and emphasized his identity as a Hindu while expressing his views.
