Murthyappa Genigeri Hitnal, district vice president of the JDS Party, said mass marriage programs help poor families and reduce wasteful spending. He spoke during a mass wedding ceremony held as part of the Sri Maruteshwara Jatra Mahotsava in Kunikeri village.
Murthyappa wished the newlywed couples a happy married life and highlighted the social and financial benefits of organizing group weddings. “Mass marriages are a lifeline for poor families. They provide support and reduce unnecessary expenses during weddings,” he said. He also encouraged the community to continue supporting such programs in the future.
The event was attended by many dignitaries and community leaders, including Shivakumar Engi, Ramesh Dobralli, as well as office bearers of various organizations, activists, and local supporters. The organizers emphasized that these ceremonies promote unity and help couples start their married lives with dignity and support.
