Gadag
A grand cultural event celebrating music and devotion was held in Gadag during the Sri Guru Satchidananda Mutt Jatra Mahotsav. The program was organized by the Darideepa Mahila Multi-Purpose Organization under the leadership of its president, Shakuntala Mulagunda.
The event paid tribute to talented local artistes who have made notable contributions to the field of music. Renowned singers Raghavendra Missionnavar and Krishnapriya Badi were honored with shawls and mementos in recognition of their achievements and dedication. The ceremony attracted art lovers and members of the community, creating a vibrant and festive atmosphere.
Speaking on the occasion, Shakuntala Mulagunda said that music is not just entertainment but a powerful force that touches the inner soul of people. She added that honoring such artistes is both a privilege and responsibility, as they preserve and promote the rich musical heritage of the region. Several members of the organization, including Jyothidesai Gowder, Deepa Belavadi, Deepa Ugalata, Vijayalakshmi Asootie, Vijayalakshmi Bally, Basamma Harthi, Shobha Hiremath, Jayashree Katiger, and Saroja Kogile, were present at the event.
