Anushka Shetty’s much-awaited action thriller Ghaati, directed by Krish Jagarlamudi, has officially been cleared by the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) with a U/A certificate. The movie is now set for a grand worldwide release on September 5, 2025, raising anticipation among fans.
Produced by UV Creations and First Frame Entertainment, the makers shared the update on social media with the caption: Sheelavathi will reign at the box office. U/A for Ghaati. Get ready for a gripping tale this September. The film also stars Vikram Prabhu in the lead role opposite Anushka.
The trailer has already built strong buzz, showcasing a gritty narrative set in the rugged ghats. The story revolves around a couple—played by Anushka and Vikram—whose lives get entangled in the dark world of local smuggling. Vikram appears as a medical worker, while Anushka plays a bus conductor before turning into his partner. Together, they are forced to stand up against the oppressive forces exploiting the poor locals, who are used by smugglers to transport contraband through dangerous terrains.
Ghaati also shines a light on the struggles of rural communities caught in the crossfire between crime and survival. This marks the second collaboration between Anushka and director Krish after their critically acclaimed film Vedam, remembered for its strong storytelling.
Originally planned for release in July, the film faced a short delay but is now locked for September, with fans eagerly waiting to witness Anushka Shetty in another powerful role.
