D.K. Shivakumar visited Lingasugur for a wedding and reviewed Hatti Gold Mining operations, safety, and production status

Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar visited the Hatti Gold Mine in Lingasugur taluk of Raichur district on Sunday and inspected various operations at the mining unit. The visit drew attention from workers and local leaders, as the mine is an important source of employment and revenue in the region.
D.K. Shivakumar was in Lingasugur taluk to attend the wedding of the son of Legislative Council member Sharanegowda Patil Biyapura. During this visit, he also took time to visit the Hatti Gold Mining Limited premises and review its functioning. Officials informed him about the current mining activities, safety measures, and production status.
During his interaction with workers, labour union leaders highlighted several issues related to working conditions, welfare measures, and infrastructure needs. They requested the Deputy Chief Minister to look into their concerns and ensure better facilities and long-term stability for employees and their families. Shivakumar patiently listened to the workers and assured them that their problems would be examined seriously.
Leaders accompanying him said the government is keen on strengthening public sector units and ensuring that workers’ interests are protected while improving productivity. The visit was seen as a positive step towards building confidence among mine workers.
On the same occasion, members of the Hatti Civic Forum submitted a memorandum to the Deputy Chief Minister. They demanded that Hatti town be declared a separate taluk headquarters, citing population growth, administrative needs, and the presence of major industrial activity like the gold mine. The forum members said taluk status would help in faster development and better public services.
Several senior leaders were present during the visit, including Minister Shivraj Thangadagi, local MLA, Chairman of Hatti Gold Mining Company J.T. Patil, Managing Director Shilpa, MLC Basanagowda Batherli, and former MLA D.S. Hulageri. Officials and party workers also accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister during the inspection.
