The minister said the government will issue title deeds, declaring settlements as villages, targeting 2.2 lakh families in 2.5 years
CHITRADURGA
Revenue Minister Krishna Bhairegowda said the state government has digitised 63.58 crore old revenue records under the Bhu Suraksha scheme to prevent damage and misuse of original land documents.
Speaking at a press conference at the District Collector’s Office here on Friday, he said farmers will soon be able to get certified copies of old revenue records online. This will reduce unnecessary visits to taluk offices and help eliminate middlemen.
The minister said the government aims to bring administration to people’s doorsteps. Undocumented settlements like Tanda, Hatti, Hadi, and Janvasati are being declared revenue villages and title deeds are being issued. The government has set a target to distribute title deeds to 2.20 lakh families within two and a half years.
He said 1.20 lakh families have already received title deeds last year. The remaining 1.10 lakh families will receive them at a major programme in Haveri on February fourteen. Along with title deeds, land registration is also being completed, and e-property records are being created in gram panchayats to give full ownership rights.
To prevent fake land deals, Aadhaar linking with RTC records has been started. It was found that many land accounts were in the names of deceased persons. So far, over eleven lakh land accounts have been corrected through an e-KYC drive.
The minister said pending revenue cases have been reduced significantly and disposal time has come down from 250 days to 84 days. New Praja Soudha offices will be built in 49 new taluks.
He added that land survey work for nearly 1.89 lakh farmers was completed in one year. Officials and local leaders attended the press conference.
