Deputy Commissioner Dr Suresh B Itnal directed officials to make careful arrangements for the State Level Talent Fountain and Kalotsava program to be held in Karatagi on February 7 and 8. He said hundreds of school children from across Karnataka will take part, and there should be no confusion or inconvenience.
He spoke during a preparatory meeting at the District Collector’s office. The event is organized by the School Education Department for the year 2025-26. Competitions will take place at the KPS High School section in Karatagi. A total of 1,295 students from different districts are expected to arrive with teachers and guides.
The Deputy Commissioner asked officials to set up help desks at bus stands and railway stations to guide students to their dormitories and competition venues. Clean drinking water, hot water, neat rooms, and proper sanitation must be ensured where students stay. Nutritious and hygienic food should be served on time.
Buses must be arranged to carry students between lodging places, dining halls, and program venues. Transport officers were told to check vehicle safety. First aid kits should be available in buses and dormitories. The Health Department must post medical teams at venues for emergencies.
Local bodies were instructed to keep the surroundings clean and provide enough toilets. Department staff must remain present at dormitories to assist students.
Zilla Panchayat Chief Executive Officer Varnit Negi said students should receive clear information in advance about venues to avoid confusion. All departments must work together smoothly. Deputy Director Somashekar Gowda Patil shared details of the competitions. Several district and taluk officers attended the meeting for smooth conduct.
