Women and Child Development Minister Laxmi Hebbalkar on Thursday performed a bhoomi puja and inaugurated the construction of an additional classroom at the Government Higher Primary School in Somanatti village. The project, costing Rs 25.64 lakh, aims to enhance educational facilities for local children.
Speaking on the occasion, the Minister highlighted that hundreds of classrooms have already been built across the constituency, along with school compound walls, playgrounds, and essential equipment such as benches and desks. “All measures are being taken to ensure there is no shortage in children’s education. Parents must give top priority to their children’s education,” she urged.
The event was attended by Block Education Officer RK Anjaneya, Shankargouda Patil, Shekhar Hosuri, BM Badiger, Shivanand, Yallappa Nittoor, Mallappa Poojeri, Balappa Mastamardi, Ramappa Nittoor, Holeppa Nandyagol, and Kallappa Mastamardi, among others.
