Will fight NICE case in Supreme Court: Fmr PM HD Deve Gowda

The BMIC project also had the consent of the Finance Department. An agreement was signed for the project at that time Bengaluru

Former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda said that a writ petition has been filed in the Supreme Court regarding the Bengaluru-Mysore Nandi Infrastructure Corridor project, in which he has also been made a party.

Speaking at a media conference at the party’s state office JP Bhavan, he said that the party has included the state government, some farmers and myself in this petition. When I was the Chief Minister of this state, Siddaramaiah was the Finance Minister. He also has all the information about that agreement, the former Prime Minister said.

This project was related to four districts including Bangalore City, Mandya, and Mysore. The agreement was for the construction of five townships and concrete roads. Even at this young age, I have to pay lawyers’ fees and fight in court. It seems that 55 lakh rupees are being paid to legal advisors in the Nice Company matter. Deve Gowda sharply criticized the state government for appointing another legal advisor in the Nice Company even though the state government has an Advocate General.

I still have the courage to fight. I have the strength to fight. More than one lakh employees are working through outsourcing. Lakhs of posts remain vacant without being filled. If you visit Victoria Hospital, you will know how many outsourcing employees are working there, he said.

The current Chief Minister has no compassion for the poor. Seven or eight people in the Chief Minister’s office are performing their duties with cabinet rank. HD Deve Gowda joked that this is the nature of his administration.

There is no benefit in blaming the State Government for every issue. Nothing can be achieved by doing so. When Siddaramaiah was the Finance Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh was the Finance Minister in the Central Government. When Manmohan Singh wrote a letter to waive the default interest on farmers’ loans as promised in our party manifesto, the then Prime Minister PV Narasimha Rao and NABARD did not give their consent, Deve Gowda complained.
