Director Hari Venkatesh’s much-anticipated Tamil gangster crime thriller Friday is set to hit screens on November 28, according to its makers. The film features Dheena, Anish Masilamani, and Mime Gopi in lead roles, promising a dark, gripping tale of crime and suspense.
Dheena, one of Tamil cinema’s fastest-rising comedians known for his role in the hit film Kaithi, takes on a serious role in this thriller. Mime Gopi and Ramachandra Duraraj play pivotal characters, while Kalaiarasan (Driver Jamuna), Chithrasena (Manjummel Boys), and Sidhu Kumaresan (Thangalaan) round out the supporting cast.
The screenplay follows a non-linear narrative, with thrilling incidents unfolding over a single night. Many scenes were shot around Kolachal, its harbour, and the coastal areas, adding authenticity to the tense and atmospheric story.
Produced by Dakdam Motion Pictures in its debut venture, Friday features a strong technical team. Principal cinematography is by Johny Nash, with additional cinematography by Kavin Asker and Nataraj. Dumae has composed the music, while Pravin handles editing and Selva Ramesh leads the VFX work. Art direction is by Karthi Loga, stunts choreographed by Abinash Aathi, and 2D animation by Shyam Potter.
The film’s post-production is now complete, and Shivani Studios will distribute Friday across Tamil Nadu. The movie promises to be a thrilling cinematic experience, blending suspense, action, and intense performances, while giving audiences a fresh perspective on the gangster genre. Fans can look forward to a high-voltage night of storytelling when the film releases later this month.
