BENGALURU
The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has announced a new Greater Bengaluru Area (GBA) Election Committee as part of its preparations for the upcoming municipal elections.
The announcement was made at a press conference led by State President Dr. Mukhyamantri Chandru. He said Bengaluru has suffered for five years without elected ward representatives because major political parties did not conduct municipal polls. According to him, the city’s basic services have weakened during this long delay, and corruption in civic works has caused both financial loss and daily trouble for residents.
Dr. Chandru said Bengaluru, once known around the world as the Silicon City, is now being called the “Garbage City” because of poor planning and misuse of public funds. He added that though media reports highlight new civic scams every day, no serious action has been taken to fix the situation. He urged citizens to demand responsible leadership in the next election.
National Joint Secretary Prithvi Reddy explained that AAP wants to rebuild the city with a clear vision based on honesty and accountability. He said Bengaluru must regain the dignity imagined by Kempegowda. The party promises world-class schools, good healthcare, and strong civic facilities for all if given a chance to serve. He noted that AAP, which began in Bengaluru, has grown into a strong and organized political movement.
Working President Sitaram Gundappa said AAP already has active teams across many wards. He mentioned that social workers and volunteers have been helping citizens for years and many more are now supporting the party. AAP plans to field honest candidates and hopes to bring major improvements through clean and effective governance.
