A low-intensity explosion occurred outside a nightclub in Chandigarh’s Sector 26, near the Sevillee bar and lounge owned by rapper Badshah. The blast, which took place around 3 a.m., shattered the glass windows of the club, but fortunately, no one was injured. Police suspect the incident may be linked to extortion attempts aimed at nightclub owners.

Two unidentified individuals on a motorcycle reportedly threw a crude bomb at the location. The nightclub was closed at the time of the explosion. Police officials, including Deputy Superintendent Dilbag Dhaliwal, stated that an investigation is underway, with the forensic team and bomb detection squad collecting evidence from the scene. Early reports suggest that the bomb may have been made with potash, a substance commonly used in firecrackers, and jute ropes were found at the site.

The explosion took place outside De’orra, located near Sevillee, both of which are part of a popular area known for high-end nightclubs. Police are exploring all angles, including personal issues, but the extortion theory remains a strong lead. This follows a similar low-intensity explosion in September, which targeted the home of a retired police officer.
