Retired Justice Desai, the sole member of the Commission investigating the irregularities in the Mysore Urban Development Authority (MUDA), visited the MUDA office on Tuesday for the first time. During the visit, he met with officials, discussed the alleged irregularities, and reviewed key files related to the investigation.
The PN Desai Commission, set up by the government, had previously opened an office in Bangalore and retrieved some MUDA documents for further review. After gathering information from officials, the commission began its probe.
In addition, the Lokayukta and Enforcement Directorate (ED) are also looking into a land allocation case involving the Mysore Urban Development Authority. The court had directed the Mysore Lokayukta to investigate land allotment in the name of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s wife, Parvathy Siddaramaiah. The investigation has already questioned CM Siddaramaiah, his wife, and other accused individuals in connection with the land deal.
Meanwhile, the ED is investigating financial irregularities linked to the MUDA scam. The agency has inspected MUDA documents for over 38 hours and raided the homes and offices of former commissioners and real estate developers, seizing documents and issuing notices to several individuals.
