Andhra Pradesh’s IT and Electronics Minister, Nara Lokesh, has reached out to former PepsiCo CEO Indra Nooyi for help in promoting Andhra Pradesh as a leading brand. During his visit to the United States, Lokesh met Nooyi at the IT Survey Synergy Summit in Las Vegas on Wednesday.
In an official statement, Lokesh emphasized the state government’s commitment to sustainable economic growth and investor-friendly policies under Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. He urged IT companies to partner with the government to boost the technology and manufacturing sectors in Andhra Pradesh.
Lokesh specifically requested Nooyi’s support in highlighting the government’s dedication to renewable energy projects, green initiatives, and policies that promote environmentally friendly industries. He also mentioned efforts to encourage women’s leadership and asked Nooyi for her insights on empowering women in various sectors.
The minister expressed a desire to enhance youth empowerment through improved education and technology skills. He invited Nooyi to help create mentoring programs for the youth to achieve these goals. In response, Nooyi showed enthusiasm for collaborating to attract investments to the state.
Lokesh also met with Salesforce CEO Clara Shih, asking for support in launching AI-skilling programs in Andhra Pradesh. He highlighted the state’s focus on smart governance and an AI-driven economy, requesting Salesforce’s assistance in workforce development and training programs.
Shih expressed Salesforce’s commitment to AI strategy and promised to discuss the proposals from the Andhra Pradesh government with company partners, aiming to improve public sector projects through responsible AI implementation.
