Jaishankar emphasized the necessity of a whole of government approach to enhance national security during his speech at the Army Commanders Conference in New Delhi on Tuesday. He discussed the complexities of current global geopolitics, touching on the associated challenges, opportunities, and possibilities. Jaishankar shared photos from the conference on X, highlighting the discussions on the pressing need for a unified governmental strategy to bolster national security.

The Second Army Commanders’ Conference for 2024 is being held in two phases, focusing on operational readiness and critical strategic discussions. The first phase took place from October 10-11 in Gangtok, where Defence Minister Rajnath Singh participated via video conference. Topics included border security challenges and strategic recommendations.

The second phase, scheduled for October 28-29 in Delhi, will further explore the changing geopolitical landscape and discuss operational matters. It aims to enhance welfare measures for serving soldiers, veterans, and their families. The conference reinforces the Indian Army’s commitment to remain prepared and adaptive to evolving threats. Key discussions will include developing a multi-faceted national security strategy, integrating various sectors, and creating low-cost technologies to address modern warfare challenges.
