Prime Minister Narendra Modi engaged in meaningful discussions with Spanish President Pedro Sanchez, focusing on enhancing bilateral relations across various sectors. The talks aimed to accelerate collaboration in areas such as trade, culture, innovation, and technology. In a post shared on X, PM Modi emphasized, We reviewed our progress in India-Spain relations and seek to boost our ties even further, particularly in trade and technology.
President Sanchez echoed this sentiment, noting that both nations are making significant strides in industrial and technological partnerships. He referred to the Tata Aircraft Complex in Vadodara, which manufactures C-295 aircraft, as a symbol of the growing friendship between India and Spain. This facility, inaugurated by both leaders, represents industrial excellence and economic growth.
The meeting took place in the Durbar Hall of the historic Laxmi Vilas Palace, where PM Modi welcomed Sanchez, remarking on his first visit to India. He expressed his joy in hosting Sanchez during the festival of Diwali, a time associated with light and new beginnings, paralleling the renewed energy in their relations.
Additionally, PM Modi announced the opening of a new consulate in Barcelona, highlighting the dynamic and multifaceted nature of their partnership. The day’s events also included a nod to the cultural ties between the two nations, recalling past collaborations like that of guitarist Paco de Lucia and musician Ravi Shankar.
