PM to unveil Rs 13,000 Cr healthcare projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will launch a series of healthcare initiatives worth around Rs 12,850 crore today (Tuesday). The event will coincide with Dhanvantari Jayanti and the 9th Ayurveda Day and take place at the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA) in Delhi.

A key announcement will be the expansion of Ayushman Bharat health coverage for all senior citizens aged 70 and above, regardless of income.

PM Modi will inaugurate the second phase of the All India Institute of Ayurveda, featuring a Panchakarma hospital, Ayurvedic pharmacy, sports medicine unit, and more. He will also inaugurate three new medical colleges in Madhya Pradesh and expand services at AIIMS hospitals across India, including Bilaspur, Kalyani, Patna, Gorakhpur, Bhopal, and Guwahati.

The Prime Minister will also open a Super Speciality Block in Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, and a Critical Care Block in Bargarh, Odisha. He will lay the foundation stone for five new nursing colleges and 21 critical care blocks in various states.

Additionally, new ESIC hospitals in Indore and other locations will be launched. Drone medical services will be introduced at 11 healthcare institutes, and helicopter emergency services will begin from AIIMS Rishikesh.

Modi will also unveil the U-WIN portal to digitalize the vaccination process for pregnant women and children. Other key projects include establishing new research institutes and Centres of Excellence, along with medical manufacturing facilities under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme. These initiatives aim to boost healthcare infrastructure and innovation in India.
