Actor Jayasurya has denied the sexual harassment allegations made against him following the public release of the Justice Hema Committee Report. The report, which highlights harassment of women in the Malayalam film industry, has led to accusations against several actors, including Jayasurya.
On the previous day, Jayasurya addressed the media and rejected all the accusations. He questioned the timelines and locations mentioned in the complaints. One claim stated that the alleged incident happened on the set of ‘Pigman’ in 2013. However, Jayasurya clarified that the movie was completed in 2011 and was filmed in a different location than mentioned.
He also dismissed another allegation about an incident in 2008 at the secretariat, stating that the shooting there was limited, and access to the premises was minimal.
Jayasurya expressed concern that such false accusations could silence real victims and harm innocent people. He mentioned that while he had the opportunity to defend himself, others might not receive the same chance.
He confirmed that no formal arrest had been made, so anticipatory bail was unnecessary. However, he declined to comment further, citing legal reasons. Jayasurya emphasized that he would continue to defend himself against what he described as baseless accusations.
