Snehamayi Krishna, one of the petitioners in the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) land scam, has requested the Mysuru Lokayukta to install CCTV cameras on its premises, including inside the office. On Monday, Krishna submitted a plea to the Lokayukta’s SP, who is overseeing the investigation, citing Supreme Court guidelines that mandate CCTV installation in offices of investigative agencies.

Krishna raised concerns over the frequent visits of M. Laxman, Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) spokesperson and close associate of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, to the Lokayukta office. ‘Laxman is spending hours at the Mysuru Lokayukta, raising suspicions that the investigation is being influenced. This is why I’ve requested CCTV installation,’ Krishna said.

He also submitted a 25-page memorandum, including a questionnaire based on a writ petition filed in the High Court concerning the MUDA scam. ‘I sent a digital copy via WhatsApp on Saturday, and today I submitted a hard copy,’ he added. Krishna accused Siddaramaiah of trying to cover up the case and misusing public funds for ads. He also claimed that the CM’s family wrongly sold land converted into 19 plots.

The Lokayukta has questioned two accused but is yet to interrogate CM Siddaramaiah. The Enforcement Directorate (ED) is also investigating the case. Krishna alleged that the de-notification of land occurred when Siddaramaiah was Deputy CM, implying influence in the decision.
