Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, criticized the BJP-led government, describing its monopoly model as harmful to jobs and small businesses on Friday. He claimed this approach has devastated micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and limited opportunities for many. While speaking to business owners in Jammu, Gandhi stated, Modi ji’s monopoly model has taken away jobs and deprived people of opportunity. India deserves better, he said.

He emphasized that despite India’s vast skill set, small businesses are suffering due to the dominance of a few large monopolies. Gandhi pointed to policies like demonetization, import duties, and the Goods and Services Tax (GST) as attacks on smaller businesses, urging the government to simplify GST and improve access to banking for these enterprises to boost job creation.

Gandhi shared a poignant story about a young boy named Dev, whose cries for his father highlighted the emotional toll of youth migration due to unemployment. He vowed to provide better opportunities for youth and promised various initiatives, including financial support for women and filling vacant government jobs. Haryana will hold elections on October 5, and Gandhi’s party aims to win the support of voters by addressing these pressing issues.
