Prime Minister Narendra Modi will hold an election rally in Kurukshetra today to support BJP candidates for the Haryana Assembly elections. This will be his first rally in Haryana, and he will address the crowd at the Theme Park at 2 p.m. Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini has urged residents to attend in large numbers, highlighting the Prime Minister’s dedication over the past decade to improving India’s global standing and honoring all sections of society, including farmers, women, youth, and the poor.
Preparations at the rally site are underway, with many officials stationed there. The BJP views this rally as crucial for boosting the party’s chances not only in Kurukshetra but also in surrounding districts like Karnal, Ambala, Kaithal, and Yamunanagar.
Kurukshetra, known for its religious significance as the battleground of the Mahabharata and the site where Lord Krishna imparted the Gita’s teachings to Arjun, has been a focus for PM Modi. During his 2014 visit, he pledged to elevate Kurukshetra’s status as a center for Gita teachings. Since 2016, the Haryana government has successfully hosted the Gita Mahotsav, which has gained international recognition, celebrated in places like Mauritius, London, and Canada.
Haryana will vote for its 90-member Assembly on October 5, with results to be counted on October 8.
