Employees from the Jharkhand Secretariat Service began a three-day mass leave on Tuesday, demanding promotions and new positions at various levels. This action has temporarily halted operations at the Secretariat and Directorate, with the leave extending until September 12. Discussions between Praveen Toppo, Secretary of the Department of Personnel, and the Jharkhand Secretariat Service Association failed to resolve the issues. All levels of officials, from branch officers to joint secretaries, joined the leave, causing significant disruption in Ranchi offices. The protestors also staged a demonstration, calling on the government to address their demands or face further actions after the leave period.
