Nirmala Sitharaman thanks PM Modi for Singapore’s Thiruvalluvar Centre

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman has thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi for announcing the establishment of the Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre in Singapore. This centre aims to promote and preserve Tamil language and culture.

During his visit to Singapore, Prime Minister Modi revealed the plan for India’s first Thiruvalluvar Cultural Centre, set to open soon. He praised Saint Thiruvalluvar’s teachings and highlighted the enduring relevance of his Tamil work, Tirukkural. The recent India-Singapore ministerial roundtable led to the upgrade of bilateral relations to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. Modi and Singapore’s PM Lawrence Wong discussed cooperation in digital technology, semiconductors, skill development, and healthcare. Modi invited Wong to visit India, which was accepted.
