Former min KH Srinivas passes away

KH Srinivasa, former Karnataka minister and veteran Janata Parivar leader, has died at the age of 85 due to age-related illness at his residence in Bengaluru on Friday.
A prominent figure in the Malnad region, Srinivasa began his career in law after studying political science and law at the University of Mysore. His political journey started in 1967 when he won the Sagar Assembly seat by defeating Kagodu Thimmappa.
Srinivasa was also an accomplished writer, music enthusiast, and Yakshagana aficionado, authoring five books, including poetry collections. His wife, Shalini Srinivas, was a noted poet and writer. The couple had one son and three daughters.
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah expressed condolences, highlighting Srinivasa’s contributions to politics, art, and literature, and noting his role as a bridge between generations of politicians.
Minister N. S. Boseraju, Malnad Development Foundation President M. Haranath Rao, and BJP State President BY Vijayendra also offered their condolences. In honor of Srinivasa, all educational institutions under the Malnad Development Foundation declared a holiday on Saturday.
