The High Court on Friday extended its order restraining former Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa from being arrested in a POCSO case. The court also adjourned the hearing to September 5. A single-judge bench extended the previous order barring Yediyurappa’s arrest and scheduled the next hearing for September 5. Yediyurappa had sought the court’s intervention to quash the POCSO case following the filing of a chargesheet against him. The court had previously issued an order preventing his arrest.
The case stems from a complaint filed by a woman alleging that Yediyurappa sexually assaulted her 17-year-old daughter. An FIR was registered against Yediyurappa at Sadashivanagar police station, and the investigation was subsequently transferred to the CID by the government.
