PM Modi to visit Maha today to launch development projects

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Maharashtra’s Palghar and Mumbai today to launch several development projects.

In the morning, around 11 AM, he will address the Global Fintech Fest (GFF) 2024 at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai. The GFF, organized by the Payments Council of India, the National Payments Corporation of India, and the Fintech Convergence Council, will feature around 800 speakers from various sectors and showcase the latest fintech innovations. The event will also release over 20 reports and white papers on industry insights.

Later, at 1:30 PM, the Prime Minister will inaugurate and lay the foundation for various projects at CIDCO ground in Palghar. Among these, he will launch the Vadhvan Port project, costing approximately Rs. 76,000 crores. This deep-water port aims to become one of India’s largest, enhancing trade by accommodating large cargo ships and offering direct international shipping routes. The port is expected to create significant employment opportunities and boost regional economic development.

Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate 218 fisheries projects worth around Rs. 1,560 crores, aimed at improving infrastructure and productivity in the fisheries sector. This includes the National Roll Out of the Vessel Communication and Support system, costing about Rs. 360 crores, to install transponders on fishing vessels for better communication and safety. Other initiatives include upgrading fishing harbours, developing Integrated Aquaparks, and adopting new aquaculture technologies to enhance fish production and post-harvest management.
