Leader of the Opposition R. Ashoka has criticized the Congress government for alleged hate politics regarding the reopening of the Siddasiri sugar factory in Kalaburgi district. He vowed that the fight for justice will persist.

At a press conference at the State Pollution Control Board office on Wednesday, Ashoka accused the government of influencing autonomous organizations. He pointed to several alleged scandals, including the Muda scam, the Valmiki Development Corporation scam, and the Kharge scam, suggesting that these issues reflect poorly on the government’s integrity.

Ashoka claimed that despite a High Court order, the factory, crucial for local employment and benefiting thousands of farmers, has not been allowed to restart. He criticized officials for their lack of independence, asserting that they appear more responsive to political pressure than to their duties.

The Opposition leader also alleged corruption within the Pollution Control Board, suggesting that influence is bought with money and that officials are obstructing MLA Basanagowda Patil Yatnal’s efforts to reopen the factory. Ashoka demanded a written confirmation that the High Court’s order will not be executed.
