Sri Lankan pacer Dushmantha Chameera has been sidelined from the upcoming T20I and ODI series against India due to an injury. According to various Sri Lankan media outlets, the official announcement of his replacement is expected soon.
Prominent Sri Lankan journalist Rex Clementine confirmed the news on ‘X,’ stating, Dushmantha Chameera ruled out of India series with injury. Replacement to be named shortly.
Asitha Fernando is likely to fill in for Chameera in the series against India. Fernando impressed with his performance in the Lanka Premier League final, where he took three wickets to help the Jaffna Kings secure victory over Galle Marvels.
The T20I matches are scheduled for July 27, July 28, and July 30 at Pallekele International Stadium, followed by three ODIs starting on August 2 in Colombo.
