Heavy rainfall wreaked havoc in Rajasthan on Saturday, causing widespread waterlogging, traffic disruptions, and prompting the Tonk district administration to close schools. In Kota, continuous rain over the past two days raised water levels in the Parvati River, resulting in the closure of the Sheopur-Gwalior road in Madhya Pradesh. According to the Meteorological Department, Baran district recorded the highest rainfall at 195 mm, while Parbatsar and Nagaur received 71 mm. Significant rainfall figures in the last 24 hours include 155 mm in Deoli, 144 mm each in Malpura and Peeplu, 137 mm in Tonk tehsil, 130 mm in Aligarh, 126 mm in Todaraisingh, and 115 mm in Nagarfort. Meteorological officials have issued warnings for heavy to very heavy rainfall in Rajasthan until July 8, with further predictions of heavy rain in eastern Rajasthan on July 9 and 10.
