Central Govt Launches Rs 200 Crore Project For Green Hydrogen Testing Infrastructure

The Government Has Unveiled An Rs 200 Crore Initiative Aimed At Enhancing Testing Facilities, Infrastructure, And Institutional Support For The National Green Hydrogen Mission. Announced By The Ministry Of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE), This Scheme Aims To Identify And Address Gaps In Current Testing Facilities For Components, Technologies, And Processes Within The Green Hydrogen Value Chain And Its Derivatives.

According To MNRE, The Scheme Will Facilitate The Establishment Of New Testing Facilities And The Upgrade Of Existing Ones To Ensure Safe And Efficient Operations. The Initiative Is Set To Run Until The Financial Year 2025-26 With The Entire Budget Allocated To These Efforts.

The National Institute Of Solar Energy (NISE) Has Been Appointed As The Implementing Agency For This Scheme. This Initiative Falls Under The Broader Framework Of The National Green Hydrogen Mission, Launched In 2023 With A Budget Of Rs 19,744 Crore Allocated Up To The Fiscal Year 2029-30.
