Police Crackdown On Obstructions To Pedestrian And Vehicle Movement

In a proactive move to ensure smooth traffic flow and pedestrian safety, a special operation was conducted by the East Traffic Division against violators within their jurisdiction. The operation targeted shop owners who had encroached upon footpaths with their shop fronts, as well as motorists and drivers who indiscriminately parked their vehicles, causing obstruction on main roads.

During the operation, shop fronts and billboards that encroached upon footpaths were cleared, facilitating unimpeded pedestrian movement. Similarly, vehicles parked in unauthorized locations were dealt with to ease traffic congestion and ensure unhindered passage for vehicles.

As a result of the operation, a total of 6 cases have been registered under Section 285 BNS against repeat offenders among shop owners and motorists who persistently violate regulations. Legal actions are set to be taken against these individuals to uphold traffic and pedestrian regulations effectively.

Looking ahead, law enforcement authorities have reiterated their commitment to taking strict action against anyone found obstructing pedestrian pathways with shopfronts or impeding vehicle movement through unauthorized parking. The initiative aims to maintain order and safety on the roads of the East Traffic Division, ensuring a smooth commute for all residents and commuters.
