The SC/ST community leaders have demanded rehabilitation of transgender people in the city, including the provision of housing and employment. Dalit leader Sadashiv Urwastore alleged that transgender people have been causing inconvenience to the general public at Kadri Park and other areas in the city, stressing the need for their rehabilitation.

Speaking during the SC/ST grievances redressal meeting, he called on Police, Social Welfare, and Women and Child Development departments to develop a rehabilitation plan. Another leader, Girish Kumar, pointed out the issue of fake transgender individuals, while Superintendent of Police Anand stressed the need to verify identity cards issued to transgender people by the district administration.
In response, DCP (Crime and Traffic) BP Dinesh Kumar said following complaints from the public, a police point has been set up near Kadri Park, with increased day and night patrolling to prevent harassment by transgender persons.  Two CCTV cameras have been installed, and warnings have been issued to transgender people against harassing others. A report on the need for their rehabilitation will be submitted to the deputy commissioner, and police officials have been directed to verify identity cards, he said.
The Dalit leaders also alleged that the Civil Rights Enforcement (CRE) cell has not been responsive to their problems. Shankar Master complained about unpainted speed breakers in Kinnigoli, causing inconvenience to vehicle users. Nagesh Kairangala demanded monthly police meetings in Dalit colonies, to which DCP (Law and Order) Siddharth Goyal directed personnel to hold such meetings regularly. The leaders further demanded action against traffic violations in the Ullal-Masthikatte area and the increase incidents of gambling and cockfighting within Mulki police station limits.
