MLA Mahesh Tenginakai said that if children are made aware of cleanliness, they will in turn make their parents aware of it.
Speaking at the dengue awareness programme organised by the district health and family welfare department in collaboration with Hubli-Dharwad Municipal Corporation (HDMC) at the Moorusavira Mutt High School, Tenginakai said that if school and college students are made aware about dengue, they will keep their surroundings clean. Officials should become dengue warriors like they did as corona warriors during the pandemic.
Drainage and canal dredging work have been carried out in the city. Solid waste should be disposed of properly. Dengue can be controlled only when everyone works as a team, he added.
MLC Pradeep Shettar said that the corporation should organise programmes to create awareness about cleanliness in all the wards. Many people died during Covid and such a situation should not recur. Precautionary measures should be taken immediately. As it is rainy season, make sure that there is no water getting accumulates around the house, he stressed.
Gurusiddha Rajayogindra Swami of Moorusavira Mutt, Mayor Veena Baradwad, HDMC Commissioner Ishwar Ullagaddi and others were present on the occasion.
