Bengaluru City Police and Nightingales Medical Trust to Launch Free Digital Literacy and Cyber Safety Training for Senior Citizens on World Elder Abuse Awareness Day.

To mark World Elder Abuse Awareness Day, the Elders Helpline, a collaboration between Bengaluru City Police and Nightingales Medical Trust, will initiate free digital literacy and cyber safety training programs on June 15. The launch event will be held at the Office of the Commissioner of Police, Bengaluru, with Shri B Dayananda IPS, Commissioner of Police, as the chief guest. Shri Siddeshwara N. KAS, Director, Department for the Differently Abled and Senior Citizens, Govt of Karnataka, will also be present.

The program aims to equip elderly citizens with essential skills to navigate digital platforms safely. Topics such as smartphone usage, online transactions, and cyber safety precautions will be covered. Additionally, awareness sessions on elder abuse and cyber crimes will be conducted.

Interested seniors can contact the Elders Helpline for registration and further details. The initiative underscores the growing need to safeguard senior citizens against digital threats and promote their well-being in the digital age.
