District Election Officer L Chandrasekhara Nayaka said that all preparations have been made in the district for the Lok Sabha polls to be held on Tuesday.
There are 20,10,437 voters in the constituency. There are 2,203 polling booths. 8,464 officers and staff have been appointed. Voting is allowed from 07 am to 06 pm, he said.
He said, verification of EVMs has been done for transparent elections. Necessary steps have been taken to avoid any kind of confusion. Randomization has been done in the presence of candidates of political parties and all the processes have been brought to their attention.
In order to increase the voting rate, basic facilities such as toilets, drinking water, benches for sitting, ramps for the disabled, wheelchairs and canopies for shade have been arranged for all the polling booths, he said.
A total of 8 candidates are in the fray in Raichur Lok Sabha constituency. There are 9,94,646 male, 10,15,158 female, 299 gender minority voters and 334 service voters in the district. As the temperature is high, ASHA workers and semi-medical officers have been deployed in the polling booths, he said.
A total of 96 cases of violation of the code of conduct have been registered in the district since the date of implementation of the model code of conduct. Various teams have confiscated Rs. 17,57,400. A total of 15,577.857 liters of liquor has been confiscated, he said.
