PM Modi Has No Knowledge Of History: Bhupesh Baghel On Inheritance Tax Row

Rajnandgaon

Bhupesh Baghel, the former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of lying about inheritance tax. Talking to sources, Baghel said, PM Modi is a liar who doesn’t understand history. Indira Gandhi donated all her property to the government in 1970, including Anand Bhavan, yet he keeps lying. In 10 years, he hasn’t achieved anything except spreading slogans. He criticizes Congress because he can’t win votes based on his own record.

Modi’s comments were in response to Congress leader Sam Pitroda’s suggestion of an inheritance tax, which Modi used to criticize the idea of wealth redistribution. Baghel’s remark came as part of the heated exchange ahead of the second phase of Lok Sabha elections.

Baghel is contesting from Rajnandgaon in Chhattisgarh, a high-profile constituency where he faces BJP’s Santosh Pandey. Mahasamund and Kanker are the other two Chhattisgarh constituencies voting in this phase.

While visiting polling stations, Baghel noted the enthusiastic voter turnout despite the high temperatures. He reported 30-35% voting in Nangao, with even higher numbers in other areas. Baghel urged voters to cast their ballots, stating, everyone should vote to protect the Constitution and preserve democracy.
