An incident took place in Martalli village of Hanur taluk of the district where a person along with his family staged a whole day protest in front of the Gram Panchayat because his name was not in the voter list.
The name of voter Maruda, a resident of Palimedu village under Martalli Gram Panchayat, is missing from the voter list. Therefore, when he came to the town to vote, this issue came to his attention. Angered by the sudden withdrawal of his name, Maruda, along with his wife and mother, is protesting in front of the Gram Panchayat.
The village officials are giving an excuse that the name has been deleted due to the mistake of the Anganwadi worker. He said that he has to spend thousands of rupees to vote, and that he has come to town for voting. He added that voting is his right and his fight will continue until he gets justice.
