LS Election: Naxal Affected 171 Sensitive Polling Stations In Dakshina Kannada District

The Dakshina Kannada constituency in the second phase of the Lok Sabha elections to be held on April 26 has 171 micro polling booths. Dakshina Kannada Lok Sabha constituency has 1,876 polling booths.
District Superintendent of Police CB Rishyant said, 1,600 personnel, 3 company CAPF, 9 platoon KSRP, 560 Home Guards have been deployed under the jurisdiction of Dakshin Kannada Police. Action has been taken against the rowdy Asamis. CAPF squad has been deployed to booths in Naxal affected area. ANF is combing in that area. They are doing it, he said.
City Police Commissioner Anupam Agarwal informed, action has been taken against 1,157 people in Mangalore as a precautionary measure. 806 people have been bound over. 75 people have been exiled to different districts. 8 people have been registered under the Hooligan Act. 4 persons have been arrested for a period of one year under the Goonda Act by the High Court Advisory Committee. Security arrangements have been made with CAPF squad and local police in a total of 42 parts of city, he said.
12 SST check posts have been deployed in four assembly constituencies of the city. 46 PSI Sector Mobiles, 14 PI Supervision Sector Officers, 4 ACP Nodal Officers, 1003 Police, 350 Home Guard Personnel, 17 Forest Guards have been deployed for election security in city. 16 ASIs of Central Security Force have been deployed for 36 critical polling booths. Police Commissioner explained that 2 CRPF and 1 KSRP personnel have been deployed in the city.
