District Administration Finalizes Preparations For First Phase Of Voting

With just one day remaining for the first phase of voting in the state, the district administration has completed its preparations. Deputy Commissioner Shilpanag revealed that the Lok Sabha constituency boasts 17,78,310 voters, with 36,000 voters set to cast their ballots for the first time.
During a press briefing, she disclosed that among the voters, there are 8,78,702 males, 8,99,501 females, and 107 gender minority voters, totaling 17,78,310, along with 377 service voters. A network of 2,000 polling booths has been established across the constituency, comprising 263 in urban areas and 1,737 in rural areas.
To encourage voter turnout, several specialized polling booths have been arranged. This includes 16 Sakhi Saurabh booths to engage women, 2 traditional tribal booths in Gundlupet taluk, 4 booths equipped with sign language translators, 8 booths targeting youth voters, 2 ethnic booths showcasing district cultural arts, 8 food donation booths promoting farmer importance, and 6 green booths emphasizing forest significance.
Of the 983 polling stations, 197 have been labeled as critical, while 17 booths lack mobile network coverage. A team of 1,667 security personnel will be deployed for election duty, ensuring a smooth and secure voting process, Shilpanag added.
