Due to the heavy rains for the last three months, the Bankapur government hospital in Shiggavi taluk is leaking. Due to this, patients coming to the hospital are facing difficulties in getting treatment. Citizens have demanded that the government should take up the task of repairing such buildings.
The new building in the general ward of the hospital is leaking. As a result, rainwater is seen near the beds where patients receive treatment. Patients seek shade from their illnesses in one place. The leaking building is a nuisance. Patients from rural areas are receiving treatment in the same ward where the water is leaking.
Patients are coming to the hospital with the belief that creating a healthy environment will cure their illnesses. But without a well-organized building, it is inevitable for patients to receive treatment in a leaky building. Rainwater has stagnated in the hospital. They have demanded that cleanliness be prioritized by removing it.
It is constantly crowded with people from the surrounding rural areas. There is a shortage of doctors and staff. There is also a lack of basic amenities. There is not even a proper toilet for the patients here. The government hospital, which has about 30 beds, is unable to control the number of patients due to the shortage of doctors and nurses. The doctors who were there are treating the patients. But the building is leaking due to rainwater, which is also causing problems for the hospital staff.
Due to the lack of facilities and shortage of doctors in the hospital, patients have to go to Shiggavi, Hubballi and Haveri for treatment.
