Mukhyamantri Chandru, the state president of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has stirred controversy by calling for the arrest of Prime Minister Narendra Modi in connection with the alleged election bond scam. Chandru made these statements during a mass hunger strike organized by AAP at Freedom Park to protest the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday.

Accusing the Modi government of resorting to leftist tactics to retain power ahead of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Chandru condemned the arrest of Kejriwal in connection with the Delhi Excise policy scam. He alleged that Kejriwal’s arrest was orchestrated based on a statement from the main accused, Sarath Chandra Reddy, who was promised immunity from prosecution in exchange for incriminating Kejriwal and making donations to the BJP through election bonds.

Questioning why BJP leaders implicated in the scandal have not faced similar consequences, Chandru demanded Modi’s arrest, labeling the alleged election bond scam as the largest perpetrated under his watch.

AAP’s national joint secretary, Prithvi Reddy, echoed Chandru’s sentiments, accusing Modi of harboring malicious intentions to secure electoral gains by keeping Kejriwal in custody until the end of the Lok Sabha elections.

Furthermore, Reddy criticized the arrests of other AAP leaders such as Sanjay Singh, Manish Sisodia, and Satyendra Jain, asserting that these actions were part of a sponsored operation orchestrated by the Modi government.

State Vice President Mohan Dasari and Bangalore City Unit President Satish Kumar were present.
