The Bangalore Rural Lok Sabha election is heating up as defections continue, with 9 members of the JD(S) joining the Congress party.
During the Lok Sabha elections, Congress surprised the JD(S) by gaining 9 members of the Channapatna Municipal Council, who joined the Congress party at DK Shivakumar’s residence in the presence of MLC Puttanna. Additionally, independent member Uma also joined the Congress.
One-third of the total JD(S) members of the Channapatna Municipal Council have left the party to join the Congress. They have written to the Deputy Commissioner requesting recognition as Congress members and permission to sit with the Congress members in the Municipal Council.The members who joined the Congress party include Channapatna Municipal Council Chairman P Prashant, MJ Revanna, A Satish Babu, Srinivasamurthy, CJ Lokesh, Nagesh, Syed Rafique Ahmed Kunumiri, Abhidabanu, and Bhanupriya.
