The incident that started in a row over the issue of drinking water that ended in murder took place in Hunsagi town of the district. Nandakumar Kattimani (21) is the murdered youth.
There was a fight between two families for drinking water. It is alleged that after questioning, a fight turned violent and a youth named Nandakumar Kattimani was stabbed to death by a man.
There was a verbal altercation between the grandmother of the youth who was killed for drinking water and the family members of the neighboring relatives. A fight broke out when both parties went to fill the water tap between the houses. Later in the evening, when he went to question this, he again scolded them with unspoken words and had a fight. At this time, Hanamanta not only assaulted Nandakumar but also stabbed him with a knife. They also attacked me when he went to settle the fight. Later, Nandakumar was admitted to the hospital with severe injuries and bleeding. But the woman Sharanamma filed a complaint saying that he died without responding to treatment.
The Police registered a case in this regard, arrested the main accused Hanamantha and his mother Hanumavva and took further action. A case has been registered at Hunasagi Police Station.
