AIADMK Manifesto Promises Rs 3,000 Monthly Assistance To Women

In its manifesto for the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, the opposition AIADMK pledged various measures, including providing Rs 3,000 monthly financial assistance to women heading economically backward families nationwide. The manifesto, unveiled by party general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, outlined 113 electoral promises. Among these, the AIADMK vowed to advocate for the appointment of governors in consultation with Chief Ministers, propose alternatives to NEET, and advocate for establishing a Supreme Court bench in Chennai.

Additionally, the party expressed opposition to the current form of the CAA and proposed renaming certain criminal laws. It pledged to safeguard the state’s rights regarding the Cauvery issue, oppose the construction of a dam at Mekedatu, and address disputes like the Mullaiperiyar issue and the Andhra Pradesh government’s check dam plans on the Palar River.

Furthermore, the AIADMK promised to implement its flagship project, Nadanthai Vaazhi Cauvery, revive various interlinking projects, and develop infrastructure such as waterways, stadiums, and healthcare facilities. Other assurances included advocating for a higher central contribution to centrally sponsored schemes, providing financial support to farmers, waiving education loans, granting dual citizenship to Sri Lankan Tamil refugees, and establishing educational institutes in Madurai.
