People are shocked to see the expensive water bill from the water board. They alleged that the bill is two to three times higher and they prefer not to pay.
Customers are shocked to see the water bill of the Bengaluru Water Board. Residents of Srinagar’s 11th Main Road in Basavanagudi Assembly constituency have received two or three times the water bill.
“The Board officials are not saying what is the reason for the sudden additional charges. They are adamant that we will not pay the bill for any reason,” say residents.
Many houses in Srinagar’s 11th Cross have not been paid their water bills. The water board staff was also used for survey work, so they have not been paid. The officials have suddenly sent messages to people on WhatsApp asking them to pay their bills for two months. It has been revealed that the bills have increased two to three times. Two months ago, the bills were six hundred or seven hundred, but this month the bills have increased from two thousand to four thousand.
The water board has set a date for issuing bills. After that date, the staff is issuing bills. Due to this, the customers are being charged for another slab rather than the amount of water used. It is said that the bill is also getting higher due to this technical problem. It seems that new meters have been forcibly installed in some houses. However, the authorities need to clarify the reason for the additional bill.
